Who we actually are
Tobu Pengin is a small technology company in Cypress. Stuart Anderson started it in 2007 and still does the work himself.
Before that, Stuart spent time in the U.S. Air Force and more than 20 years running data centers and writing software for large companies. The short version: he's spent his career fixing the kind of expensive, complicated systems that big corporations run — and he now builds smaller, cheaper versions of them for businesses like yours.
"Tobu Pengin" is Japanese for "flying penguin." It's a nod to family and military ties to Japan.
When you hire us, you are not hiring a call center. You get the person who wrote the code and racked the server.
What we do
Six things. That's it.
We keep your computers working.
Desktops, laptops, printers, Wi-Fi, servers, email. We watch them, update them, back them up, and fix them when they break. You call one number.
We build your website.
A real website that looks good on a phone — and one you can update yourself. Change a price, add a photo, post a job opening. No calling a web designer and waiting three days.
We keep track of your customers.
Names, phone numbers, what they bought, when you last talked, what you promised them. All in one place instead of a spreadsheet, a notebook, and three people's memories.
We run your day-to-day paperwork.
Invoices, inventory, work orders, payroll hand-offs, job tracking. The boring stuff that eats your week. We can put it all in one system that talks to itself.
We help people find you on Google.
So when someone nearby searches for what you sell, your name comes up — not the guy two towns over.
We buy, set up, move, and retire your equipment.
New computers. Office moves. Getting rid of old machines safely so nobody walks off with your customer data.
Why we're cheaper than the big guys
We're not cheap because we cut corners. We're cheaper because of how we're built.
We own our software. Most companies rent you software from a big vendor and charge you every month, per person, forever. We build on our own platform, Pengin-Pi-3. There's no middleman taking a cut of your bill.
You only pay for what you use. Ever paid for a software package where your team uses about a tenth of the buttons? We size it to what you actually do.
Billed the way you'd want to be billed. We bill hourly for the work involved, and we'd rather you call early than sit on a small problem until it's an expensive one. Ask about MSP and SaaS-style monthly agreements — they get you our most favorable rates, and the longer the agreement, the bigger the discount.
We can spread the cost out. Big software projects don't have to be one giant check up front. We favor predictable monthly payments spread over the life of the agreement, not a big bill up front.
We don't make you throw away things that still work. Plenty of companies will tell you everything you own is obsolete on day one. We'll keep your old system running and move you off it only when it actually makes you money to do so.
Why you can trust us
- Veteran-owned. In business since 2007. Started as Anderson Networking Solutions.
- We're local. Cypress, Texas. We serve Houston, Katy, Tomball, Spring, The Woodlands, and Sugar Land. We can drive to you.
- A person answers the phone Monday through Friday.
- We handle the strict stuff. We've worked under medical privacy rules (HIPAA) and credit-card security rules (PCI-DSS). If you take card payments or hold patient records, we know the rules.
- We write everything down and hand it to you. Passwords, what's plugged into what, what we bought and when the warranty ends. It's your business. You should be able to fire us and hand the folder to the next person.
- Our software is public. The platform your site runs on is open source — anyone can read the code. Nothing is hidden, and you're not locked in a box only we hold the key to.
"I didn't understand half of that"
Fair. Most technology companies write like they're being paid by the syllable.
So we wrote a plain-English section. Every service above has its own page: what it actually is, whether you even need it, what it costs, and what the salespeople mean when they say things like "cloud" and "managed services."
No sales pitch. Read it and decide for yourself.
